Event guidelines for shredding, computer donation and prescription drug take-back

ON-SITE PAPER SHREDDING

Shreddable: Office paper (any color), manila folders, staples, paper clips, rubber bands, binder clips, spiral notebooks, hanging file folders, and receipts.

NOT to be shredded: Please DO NOT bring 3-ring binders, garbage of any kind, newspapers, credit cards, CDs, cardboard, magazines, telephone books, hardcover books.


ON-SITE COMPUTER DONATION

Please bring: Computers – especially laptops (working or non-working), Keyboards or Mice (must be in good working order), Power cables, Printer cables, Printers, Legally transferable software, Hard drives 80 GB & larger, Memory (DDR, DDR2, DDR3 RAM) 1 GB & larger.

Please DO NOT bring: CRT monitors.

ON-SITE PRESCRIPTION DRUG TAKE-BACK *

Members of the Metropolitan Police Department will set up a Prescription Drug Take-Back station at our Burleith event only. MPD will be present to collect the medications and chat with neighbors. This link to the FDA website provides more useful information about the safe disposal of unused medicines – FDA.

*Prescription Drug Take-Back will NOT be at the October 19th event. MPD is having a Drug Take-Back event on October 26th at the 2nd District Police Station. Please check with MPD for details.
